GOALS! GOALS! GOALS!

This year’s World Cup has been dubbed ‘the best ever’ and in terms of the goal count we are getting there!

When France’s Paul Pogba scored in the 79th minute against Nigeria in the first round of knockout games it meant that we had hit a landmark. His header was the 146th goal of the 2014 World Cup and that is one more than in the whole of the 2010 tournament.

At the time of writing this we are sitting on 154 goals with 8 games still remaining. The magic number to become the highest scoring tournament of all time is 171, which was achieved during France 98.

Will the goal rush continue? Lets hope so!
