Swedish players celebrate victory in their European Under 21s Championship final. The Swedes managed to upset the odds and win the tournament but it needed a penalty shootout at the end of a nervy and tight final against Portugal. Despite both sides having chances to win the tie it ended 0-0 so the spot-kicks decided it. Wild Swedish celebrations began when Patrik Carlgren saved tournament star William Carvalho’s penalty to secure the title. It is the first ever trophy for the Swedish national team in this competition, and it took a monumental effort given their early form in the tournament.

Jan Kliment of the Czech Republic took the Golden Boot award with 3 goals. Interestingly, Harry Kane of Tottenham and England had as many shots on goal as Kliment but failed to score…
